Leaving the NHS coincides with the Isle of Wight Festival and I spend my first day stuck in traffic as the weather confounds the best efforts of the organisers to get people onto waterlogged fields.  A police car is 5 vehicles ahead of me in the traffic and after an hour, does a U turn and heads back the other way. I feel abandoned!  But with a bit of ingenuity and knowledge of the back roads, I finally make it to my destination.  A bit like life - obstacles come along, and it is up to us to find a way round them and move on.

My plans to spend time walking the beach this summer look a bit doubtful, if this weather continues.  Maybe I need to reframe it and learn to walk the beach in the rain - and appreciate that I am lucky to live by the sea.
