my last post mentioned random acts of kindness.  I was at the hospital recently, and a man in the car park didn't have change for the machine. He was due to have a scan, so I paid his ticket for him.  A friend paid for a coffee for someone in the queue on the car ferry.  Why bother help someone out that you don't even know?  Because it is good to "do as you would be done by".
And this week is the birthday of a dear friend who is dying.  Her closest friends have decided that our gift to her will be random acts of kindness that we will do in her name this week.  It seems pointless to say "Happy Birthday" to someone in the last days of their life. But it does seem right to mark her day, and to show our love for her.
So Happy Birthday lovely lady.
