“The whole of life is but a moment of time. It is our duty, therefore to use it, not to misuse it.” (Plutarch)

What a brilliant quote.  I've said before that we sometimes fall in to the tyranny of "when" - (when I have this, life we be perfect, when I've got that, life will be right, when I have achieved whatever, I will succeed....)  You get the picture.

How liberating, then, to be in the moment.  To live life according to what we have now, to our very best ability.  Savouring every moment, enjoying all that life brings us, and all of the people and experiences that we have right now.

If we stop looking for the lottery win, the qualification, the perfect job, and focus on what we actually have, and enjoy the positives that are there, we can be content.

Everything then becomes a bonus - if life throws us wonderful things, enjoy them!  And if life throws us lemons, they go really well with gin and tonic.
