Are you someone defined by your past? Do you have a story? Does it influence how you live your life today? It is all too easy to take an event or series of events that have impacted on your life and allow them to shape and colour your whole life.  Perhaps you had a traumatic event in your childhood, lost a parent in early life, or suffered a catastrophic accident.  Sometimes that then colours everything we are - all that we do - every element of our being is shaped by that.

One way to look at a traumatic event is to ask yourself what it can teach you. What could you learn from it, and take forward to change your life for the better?

To take something negative and turn it into a positive is to take control and to stop it having a hold on you.  In life, you can look forward or back.
